BGL (Burhill Group Limited) and its golf division venues, Ramsdale Park Golf Centre, and Hoebridge Golf Centre, have been recognised with prestigious accolades at the 2022 Member Experience Awards in Nottingham.

The awards celebrate and reward health and fitness clubs, leisure centres, gyms, and golf clubs across the globe for their delivery of excellent member experiences, as measured by Net Promoter Score. Commonly referred to as NPS, the globally recognised system measures customer loyalty and satisfaction and is used within a vast array of industries.

This year, BGL were proud recipients of four awards, with the BGL Group winning the hotly contested Golf Operator of the Year Award. Based in Woking, Hoebridge Golf Centre was also named Most Improved Golf Club of the Year.

Ramsdale Park Golf Centre in Nottinghamshire picked up two accolades on the night, including the Best Golf Club Member Experience award. In addition, Ramsdale Park was named as the overall Club of the Year – this was a prize that ran across all sectors of the industry, from health and fitness centres to leisure clubs and golf clubs, making the achievement that much more prestigious.

Present on the night to collect the awards were, Operations Director for the BGL Golf Division, Guy Riggott, General Manager at Ramsdale Park Golf Centre, Theresa Plimmer, and General Manager of Aldwickbury Park Golf Club, Ian McDowell.

Commenting on the accolades, CEO of BGL, Colin Mayes, said: “We couldn’t be prouder to receive these fantastic industry performance awards. It really is a testament to the continuous hard work of each and every team member across the entire BGL Golf portfolio.

“We are constantly striving to improve the offering at our golf sites around the country by making continuous investments in all areas of the businesses. Our General Managers also do a fantastic job of implementing bespoke strategies at their venues and leading their teams in a way that is conducive to ever-improving member satisfaction.”

The MEA awards recognise the best sites or operators in their respective sectors, with awards also available for the best overall performance across all sectors. It is the industry’s only awards programme based solely on NPS score as an objective measure of quality. Winning a Member Experience Award requires a true customer-first approach and unwavering focus on making member experience part of everything an organisation does every day.
