Burhill Golf and Leisure Limited (BGL), are celebrating National Golf Month this May by hosting a full schedule of adult and children’s lessons across nine of its UK venues.

The sessions will run throughout the month, welcoming beginners and enthusiasts of all ages and genders. Activities will include heavily discounted ‘Learn Golf in a Day’ sessions for adults, as well as free group lessons for juniors.

“BGL have been great supporters of National Golf Month from the start, and welcome any initiative that invites people to the game,” commented BGL’s CEO, Colin Mayes.

“We want to remove barriers that may deter people from trying the sport, and invite everyone to come down to one of our venues, no matter what age or experience, and just have fun playing golf.

“It’s a great social game, and a healthy way to get outdoors and spend some time with friends. By working with National Golf Month, we hope to see many more people experiencing the great game of golf at our venues in the near future.”

The Learn Golf in a Day sessions will be open to adults, with at least one women’s only session being held at each venue, with the price of the course halved during National Golf Month.

The introductory course will include a one hour lesson on the swing, 45 minutes of chipping and putting, another 45 minutes of pitching and bunker shots, and finish with an hour on the course, punctuated with refreshments and lunch.

The one hour junior sessions will be split into age categories of nine and under, and ten and over, with attendees receiving their first session for free in conjunction with National Golf Month.

“Each club has a full timetable of activities that will run throughout the month,” added Mayes, “so there are plenty of opportunities for people to go along to their nearest BGL venue and give golf a go.”

Participating venues include: Abbey Hill Golf Centre, Aldwickbury Park Golf Club, Birchwood Golf and Country Club, Hoebridge Golf Centre, Ramsdale Park Golf Centre, Redbourn Golf Club, The Shropshire Golf Centre, Thornbury Golf Centre, and Wycombe Heights Golf Centre.
