Burhill Golf and Leisure Ltd (BGL) are delighted to announce a significant £5,000,000 investment into the development of the newly branded Birchwood Park Golf and Country Club, currently Birchwood Park Golf Centre.

Situated in Wilmington, Dartford, the venue will undergo a complete transformation of its health and fitness area to create the newly styled venue, set to launch at the beginning of 2017.

Guy Riggott, Operations Director at BGL is positive about the development plans and what the revamped facility will be able to offer the local community:

“We hope that by transforming Birchwood Park, we can create a golf and country club that provides fantastic facilities for members and guests to enjoy, and that the changes will generate a lot of interest from the surrounding area.”

The star features of the development are the brand new 25 metre indoor pool and expansive spa facilities, both of which will revolutionise the club and form a focus venue for health, wellbeing and fun within the community.

Other highlights of BGL’s multi-million pound investment plan are a larger fitness suite with over 60 pieces of equipment, three aerobics studios including, a spin studio, new changing facilities, larger on-site shop, new entrance lobby and reception, and an extended café bar and grill all of which will be available to both members and visitors to utilise fully following completion.

Birchwood Park Golf Centre is one of 10 golf venues and 22 courses across the UK operated by BGL, and with this substantial investment, the company are hoping to further their philosophy of making the game of golf accessible to all, no matter what age or ability.

“We want everyone to be able to enjoy the new club. Our aim is to create a premium facility to be embraced by all,” commented Melanie Drake, General Manager of the venue.

“Emphasis is now on golf, fitness and wellbeing, so we wanted to use the investment to further promote healthy living to the local community.”

The ambitious project starts in February with the fitness suite and studios expected to be complete by August 2016, and the full redevelopment to be accomplished and open for use in early 2017.
