Host of the European Tour’s 2017 British Masters and home to two Lee Westwood designed championship courses, Close House has announced the introduction of Toptracer Range technology in all 10 bays at its PGA Academy driving range.

Familiar to all golfers through its coverage tracking the world’s best golfers week-in, week-out on the PGA Tour and European Tour TV broadcasts, Toptracer Range enhances the driving range experience for anyone who wants to hit a golf ball.

The driving range at Close House’s PGA Golf Academy is open to all, offering tuition from its advanced team of professionals and a comfortable setting to take up the game or hone your skills.

Jonathan Lupton, Managing Director at Close House, commented: “At Close House we’re always looking for innovative ways to ensure our facility is the hub for golf in the north-east.

“Toptracer has become very recognisable to golf fans over the last couple of years and it will transform the driving range here at Close House, making practice a lot of fun for both beginners and experienced golfers.”

Using cameras mounted around the facility Toptracer Range technology tracks and displays each shot on video screens found at each hitting bay and allows for a range of fun game modes that are scalable to any ability.

Data is instantly recorded and displayed on the screen through a player profile that can continuously be accessed through the Toptracer Range community app allowing users to return to their stored data on subsequent visits or compare their performance against friends.

While anyone can make use of Close House’s driving range, avid practisers can take advantage of the unlimited golf balls offer for just £50 per month. Visitors can also try the new system from as little as £7.50.

The driving range is open weekdays from 8am – 8:30pm (Tuesday open from 10am) and weekends from 8am – 6:30pm all year round. An on-site café serving food all day provides a welcome spot to relax before or after your practice session.

Close House’s state-of-the-art driving range sets the gold standard in the area and provides a brand-new experience for local golfers.
