TOUR 120_Full_Shaft

The winner of the European Tour’s coveted Race to Dubai title trusted Nippon Shaft throughout 2016, with the 40-year-old Swede putting together a remarkable season which consisted of 11 top-10’s and included his first major triumph at The Open Championship back in July.

Using Nippon Shaft’s popular N.S. PRO MODUS³ Tour 120 steel shafts in both his irons and wedges, the Race to Dubai victory is the second time the Ryder Cup veteran has won the European Tour’s year-long money list.

Ending the season 4th in the Official World Golfing Rankings, the eleven-time European Tour winner confirmed his status as one of the best ball strikers on the planet in 2016, ranking second in terms of Greens in Regulation (77.8%) and first in terms of Stroke Average (69.14).

“I’m very pleased to get my name on this trophy once again,” the winner said to the media following the win. “It’s been a great year, the best year of my career. I’ve always thought it was going to be hard to top 2013, but I think I’ve done that this year.”

Commenting on the victory, Nippon Shaft’s European Sales Manager Garry Price said, “To have capped off a year which saw him win his first Major Championship in such dramatic fashion at Royal Troon, by lifting the Race to Dubai trophy, is testament to the remarkable consistency he has shown throughout the season.

“We’re delighted that he continues to play our shafts in both his irons and his wedges, and we look forward to working with him for many years to come,” continued Price.

Nippon Shaft has recorded hundreds of victories on professional golf tours around the world, as the best players in the world continue using the company’s steel shafts in their irons and wedges.
