Hoebridge Golf Centre, a BGL Golf venue near Woking, Surrey, has exceeded £10,000 in fundraising for Alzheimer’s Research UK in 2015, following a hugely successful recent Charity Day.
A total of 68 golfers, including a mix of members, staff and guests, took part, with over £6,900 raised for the Centre’s chosen cause. In addition to fun golf events, the day included a range of fundraising initiates, including a raffle and several auctions.
Thanks to the generous donations from several supporters of the day, prizes including a print of the late golf legend Seve Ballesteros, a signed cricket bat and a fourball at Burhill Golf Club were able to raise in excess of £4,000 from the auctions held throughout the day.
In addition to the Charity Day, several other sources of fundraising have contributed to the £10,000 total to date, including the men’s and ladies Christmas lunch, the ‘drive-in’ and the Champagne Charlie event.
Mike O’Connell, Senior General Manager at Hoebridge, commented, “The fundraising success we’ve been able to achieve is primarily down to the efforts of a hard working Charity Committee. To raise £10,000 half way through the year is an incredible achievement and I’m extremely proud of everyone involved.
“We’ve are lucky enough to have the full support of all the members here at Hoebridge, as well as the cooperation of the club in terms of donating tee times on the Charity Day and making the day’s experience so enjoyable for all those involved.”
Hoebridge Golf Centre continues to provide a broad range of golfing experiences for golfers of all ages and abilities, with a scenic 18-hole course, a time-saving 9-hole course, plus a fun short course, ideal for beginners and families.
