Hoebridge Golf Centre hosts Local Footgolf Champ as Argentina World Cup Looms
Hoebridge Golf Centre, Woking, is supporting the UK’s road to the Footgolf World Cup by offering team member Mark Scotchford free access to its renowned Footgolf course.
Scotchford will be able to utilise the premium 9-hole facility until he jets off to Buenos Aires, Argentina, for kick-off on January 5th, 2016.
The ex-footballer took up the sport when he became a fireman and couldn’t afford to get injured playing ‘proper football’. He is now a fully-fledged member of the UK’s 16-man squad that will travel to Argentina for the Federation of International Footgolf World Cup.
Scotchford, from Sunbury-on-Thames, said, “I’m delighted Hoebridge Golf Centre have granted me access to their course. It’s the best in the area by far so will be an ideal practice facility for me.
“Hopefully the time I’ll now be able to dedicate to practice will pay dividends when I’m out with the UK side in Argentina. Who knows, we may even bring the trophy home?”
Mike O’Connell, Senior General Manager at Hoebridge, added, “We’re thrilled to be supporting a local lad like Mark. Footgolf has really taken off in the region and it’s exciting to be able to say we’re catering for the elite in the sport.”
Footgolf is available from 12pm every day at Hoebridge, and can be booked by phone on 01483 722611
