Hoebridge Golf Club - Le Quatre Musquatesses

The annual Charity Day at Hoebridge Golf Centre, a BGL venue in Woking, has been hailed as a huge success after £8,600 was raised on the day for the club’s chosen charities, Alzheimer’s Research UK and LinkAble.

31 teams of golfers took to the course in varying degrees of fancy dress on the 26th July, playing in a stableford team competition that saw Le Quatre Musquatesses emerge victorious in their wigs and dresses.

A raffle and auction followed the events on the course, raising nearly £3,000 alone for the two charities.

“Everyone who was involved with the Charity day here at Hoebridge had a great time, and really put their all into making the day such a huge success,” commented Mike O’Connell, Senior General Manager at Hoebridge Golf Centre.

“The members are all incredibly enthusiastic in supporting our annual charities, and we hope that the rest of the year will prove just as fruitful for fundraising within the club.”

The two charities were chosen by the men’s and ladies’ captains at the beginning of their tenure this year.

LinkAble is a local charity that works to give those with learning disabilities the chance to develop their potential and enjoy socially inclusive, fulfilled lives. The second charity that will benefit from the generosity of those involved on the Charity Day is Alzheimer’s Research UK, the UK’s leading research charity aiming to defeat dementia.

Past captain Debbie Evans, who worked with the Hoebridge Golf Club Charity Committee to organise the day, is delighted with the outcome:

“We are incredibly grateful to all the participants, sponsors, donators, and helpers for their generosity,” Debbie commented. “We’d like to thank BGL for donating the tee times, and all the staff at Hoebridge for making the day so enjoyable. Several items are still to be auctioned online, so we’re yet to add those funds to the total, but it was a great day all round for those involved and the charities.”

Hoebridge Golf Centre is situated in Woking amongst the beautiful Surrey Downs, and features a picturesque 18-hole golf course with stunning views of the surrounding area. The centre is also home to a nine-hole course, a par three short course, Footgolf facilities, and a Mr Mulligan’s Pirate Golf adventure course, all ideal for beginners and families.
