Women's Hour Image

Marriott Golf UK are kick-starting the summer with Women’s Hour, an initiative offering free lessons for women throughout the month of May, across all of their UK Hotel & Country Clubs.

The relaxed weekly sessions will be held every Tuesday with both a morning and evening lesson, each lasting for an hour. Offered free of charge for the entirety of May, the lessons will continue through to October for a small, weekly fee.

The venues will provide equipment and forgo dress code restrictions for all attendees, inviting both golfers and non-golfers alike to head down to the course and start swinging.

Alison Ainsworth, Senior Director of Golf, Leisure and Spa Operations at Marriott UK believes the initiative will provide a sought after opportunity for female golfers:

“Here at Marriott Golf, we want women to enjoy all aspects of our resorts, including the golfing facilities. With these lessons, we aim to encourage a network of female golfers of varying ages and levels to form at each club, all coming together to learn the game, get to know each other, and have fun.”

Ladies are invited to attend the sessions for free throughout the month of May in an effort to introduce more women to the sport. Those interested can be of any age and ability, but budding golfers under the age of 16 must be accompanied by an adult.

After May, a fee of just £10 per session will be introduced to cover coaching costs and the use of the facilities. For those eager to continue their game on a more regular basis, blocks of sessions will be available to pre-book at a discounted rate.

Women’s Hour comes as part of Marriott’s Summer of Golf, which will see a season of golfing activities held across UK venues. The initiative also signals the beginning of an ongoing commitment Marriott has made to the women’s game, and making the sport more accessible to female golfers.

Operators of 11 championship courses throughout the UK, Marriott Golf is one of the biggest and most successful golf course operators in the country. Visitors and members can make use of the extensive golfing facilities available at each venue, as well as the superior accommodation, relaxing spa and leisure areas and the warm, hospitable service associated with the Marriott name.
