NIPPON SHAFT CAPTURES VICTORY, RUNNER-UP FINISHES ON LPGA, PGA TOUR
Nippon Shaft recorded a victory and a runner-up finish Sunday (August 26) on the LPGA Tour and PGA TOUR, respectively.
The winner of the CP Women’s [Canadian] Open was the 20-year-old Ottawa native, who used N.S.PRO MODUS³ Tour 105 S flex steel shafts in her irons and N.S.PRO MODUS³ Wedge 115 steel shafts in her wedges to shoot 21-under par and win by four shots in front of her home fans.
She recorded rounds of 66-66-70-65—267 at Wascana Country Club in Regina, Saskatchewan, earning her second victory of the year and a winner’s check of $337,500. With seven career LPGA Tour victories already, including one major, she needs just two more to become the winningest Canadian female golfer in history.
Meanwhile, on the PGA TOUR, the 28-year-old from Salt Lake City recorded his third runner-up finish of the season at the Northern Trust at Ridgewood Country Club in New Jersey. He used N.S.PRO MODUS³ Tour 120 TX steel shafts in his irons and the N.S.PRO MODUS³ Tour 120 X steel shafts in his wedges to shoot 14-under par 270 with rounds of 69-67-66-68.
Nippon Shaft’s MODUS³ models now have won 21 times this year on top pro tours around the world, including six on the LPGA, and 144 times since they were introduced in 2010. The MODUS³ Tour 105 has 10 wins this year and the MODUS³ Wedge 115 three.
