The winner of the 3M Open at TPC Twin Cities in Minnesota used MODUS3 Tour 130 X in his irons en route to a thrilling first victory on the PGA Tour.

The 20-year-old player, making just his third career start on the PGA Tour as a professional, shot weekend scores of 62 and 65, including a 26-foot putt for eagle on the 72nd hole, to post a score of -21 and a one-shot margin of victory.

After a standout college career at Oklahoma State University, this first PGA Tour win earned him a two-year PGA Tour exemption as well as a $1.152 million first-place cheque.

The MODUS³ shaft series now has 29 worldwide professional victories in the 2018-19 season and a total of 183 since its introduction in 2012.  Approximately 250 players across the world’s leading tours use Nippon Shaft’s MODUS series steel shafts to help gain their desired distance, accuracy and trajectory.

“Nippon Shaft congratulates the winner on earning his first PGA Tour win in such impressive fashion, and at such a young age,” said Hiro Fukuda, Marketing and Sales for Nippon Shaft. “We are honoured that he has chosen to use our products as he embarks on his much-anticipated professional career.”
