PING announces the launch of its 2015 technical Autumn/Winter apparel collection, Engineered to Play through the brand’s Sensor platform of performance fabric technologies and incorporating outdoor industry-proven fabrications into the golf apparel market for the first time.

To complement the existing technical Sensor platform PING has utilised, an array of carefully selected, finest quality and best performing fabrics feature across the line.

Within the Sensor Dry category, PING has partnered with Pertex, a brand whose performance fabric technology heritage and dedication to innovation and excellence has resulted in partnerships with the most prestigious brands in the outdoor industry.

At the heart of the Autumn/Winter collection, and incorporating Sensor Dry Technology with Pertex Shield+, is the new Tour Eye lightweight waterproof jacket. This offers the ultimate combination of guaranteed waterproof protection, exceptional breathability, and stretch properties for complete freedom of movement within the swing.

The Tour Eye jacket adheres to the Engineered to Play philosophy from PING and was developed with PING staff player, Louis Oosthuizen, who was involved throughout the design process. The garment has excelled through testing at the highest level in all playing conditions, and has been engineered specifically for golfers.

Constructed from lightweight Pertex Shield+, the Tour Eye jacket combines a three layer, tightly woven stretch fabric to the front, and a back body with a Pertex proprietary polyurethane film laminate. This produces a highly waterproof (20,000mm) and breathable fabric (20,000gm/24h), that is extremely durable and resists abrasion in key areas, such as on the shoulders when carrying the golf bag.

A Pertex Shield+ three layer waterproof knitted fabric at the sleeves offers guaranteed waterproof protection and exceptional stretch performance, ensuring complete freedom of movement during the swing.  Waterproof protection is further ensured with full seam seals throughout the jacket, which is guaranteed by PING to be waterproof for three years.

Other standout features include a vent detail to the chest for additional breathability, and clean adjustable cuffs for minimal distraction.

The Tour Eye jacket is available in both full and half zip models, with matching waterproof trousers which hold the exact performance characteristics found in the jacket, creating a protective, but playable suit.

Utilising the Sensor Warm technology is the new Benedict zip top.

This 14 gauge, finely knitted zip top’s outstanding feature is a woven overlay to front, body and shoulders, which delivers thermal insulation in the body’s most exposed areas. This section also offers wind resistance, and is elevated by a water resistant fabric finish.

The garment’s knitted sleeves hold stretch properties designed to minimise restriction and maximise potential for athleticism and flexibility through the golf swing.

The selected fabric mix of the knitted sleeves is soft to touch, quick drying and delivers outstanding performance by providing lightweight, low-bulk performance. This combines with the overlay to provide an indispensable Sensor Warm garment that holds high levels of heat retention, stretch, breathability and water resistance.

Other features include a full zip opening and two front pockets, giving the garment a fashionable aesthetic.
