A unique, bright pink buggy was seen on the fairways of Redbourn Golf Club at the end of April as golfers were able to hire the car in support of Breast Cancer Care. From the 25th of April, players were able to hire the specially coloured electric buggy for their rounds, with all proceeds being donated to the charity.

The pink Club Car arrived in time for a full schedule of Ladies’ events at the club, including a Macmillan charity cup tournament, interclub Ladies match against Aldwickbury, and a designated Ladies day.

“All the members were excited to have the pink buggy at Redbourn, especially during such a busy week for Ladies golf,” commented Redbourn Golf Club General Manager, Ian McDowell.

“The colour drew quite a lot of attention, and was a popular sight on the course as it was a fun way to fundraise and raise awareness of the brilliant work that this charity does.”

Burhill Golf and Leisure Ltd (BGL), operator of Redbourn Golf Club, was one of the first organisations to adopt the initiative and saw great success during the week, raising a significant sum towards supporting those affected by breast cancer.

Breast Cancer Care works tirelessly to ensure that early detection is promoted, and that every person affected by breast cancer receives the best treatment, information, and support throughout the care process.

The initiative was led by Bradshaw Golf Buggies in partnership with Club Car, who are loaning the pink buggies to courses across the UK for one week in return for all hire costs to be donated to the charity.
