Sullivan Seals Hat-Trick of Wins at Portugal Masters
PING staff player Andy Sullivan captured his third win of the 2015 European Tour season with an outstanding nine shot wire-to-wire victory at the Portugal Masters on Sunday.
Entering the final round with a five shot lead, the Englishman shot a bogey-free 66 to reach 23 under par and become the first man to win three European Tour events this season. Andy’s other victories this year came at The South African Open Championship in January and the Joburg Open in March.
Andy has been a PING staff player since turning pro in 2011, following a standout amateur career that was highlighted by winning the Scottish Amateur Open Stroke Play Championship and representing Great Britain and Ireland at the 2011 Walker Cup.
On route to his Portugal Masters victory, Andy relied on a 10.5° G30 driver, 14.5° G30 fairway wood, 17° G30 hybrid, S55 irons (3-PW), Glide wedges (54SS and 60SS) and a 30.5” Cadence TR Anser 2 B putter.
With the win, Sullivan moves to a career high 47th in the Official World Golf Rankings and 15th in the Race to Dubai Rankings heading into the four European Tour Final Series events next month.
